Polynt Composites Application Center training events are free of charge and include monthly, publically offered courses and private customer-specific courses. The public events cover a broad range of topics relating to all facets of the composites industry. At each event attendees receive a unique training experience through instruction from a full team of Polynt Composites USA personnel, as well as specialists from other composites industry suppliers. Events consist of Tech-Talk classroom sessions and Demo-Zone workshops for hands-on training. Most Polynt Composites Application Center training events are held at our state-of-the-art Technology Center Headquarters located in North Kansas City, Missouri. This 16,000 square foot facility includes a 40-seat training auditorium, a quality control laboratory, and an applications shop with two full-scale spray booths and equipment for a wide variety of other composites processing. Public Polynt Composites Application Center Training events are also held each year at various regional locations. See the class schedule below for upcoming events. Gel Coat Application and Repair is a two-day school designed to introduce and expand on a working knowledge of gel coat materials, application, and repair skills. Classroom sessions provide background for hands-on workshops intended to offer practical tips and techniques for better quality parts. Participants will be involved in individual projects during three different workshops:
Material Application Workshop
Tips and techniques for proper material application will be covered during this workshop. A full team of Polynt Composites Technical Service experts will answer your questions about your gel coat application process. A variety of spray equipment and mold configurations are available for hands-on activities.
Spray Equipment Workshop
Emphasis will be placed on spray equipment setup and maintenance including shutdown, startup and troubleshooting. Representatives from MVP (Magnum Venus Plastech) will be on hand to offer specific advice.
Note: Some hands-on activities will require the use of a respirator. Participants should furnish their own if possible. Fit testing and respirators may be available for a nominal fee.
Repair and Surface Finishing Workshop
Repair and surface finishing will be covered in detail with attendees participating in each step of the process.
